Comedy
Terry Mynott built his reputation on impressions and character comedy. He is often described as an “impressionist” – The Guardian dubbed him among the “new toasts of TV impressionism” and noted he can do a “mean Terry Wogan impression”. His best-known impressions include actors and public figures such as Christopher Walken (famously as an M25 traffic cop), David Attenborough, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and others. In interviews he emphasizes brevity in impersonations (“do the shortest impersonation possible”). Stand-up clips and TV sketches showcase his likeness-based comedy (e.g. The Mimic often features quick celebrity voice-switches). For audio examples, some Mimic clips and Morgana Robinson interviews are on YouTube; the BBC Radio 4 sitcom Phil Ellis Is Trying also highlights his vocal range.
